An Official Selection at The Awareness Festival in Los Angeles
We’re thrilled to announce that “La Lucha: Getting Schooled in America” has been officially selected to premiere at the prestigious Awareness Festival in Los Angeles! Our inclusion in this festival, renowned for showcasing films that seek to uplift and inform, is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion behind our documentary.
The Awareness Festival is celebrated for its commitment to showcasing independent filmmakers from around the globe, each presenting poignant, thoughtful, and entertaining films that resonate deeply with their audiences. What sets this festival apart is its emphasis on films that go beyond mere entertainment — films that catalyze change, spark conversations, and foster a deeper awareness about pressing societal issues.
Our documentary, which gives voice to the stories of at-risk kids wrestling with tragedy and trauma, aligns seamlessly with the festival’s core values. As we join this community of filmmakers, we’re reminded of the immense power of storytelling — to heal, to inspire, and to engender change.
For those in the Los Angeles area, including our vast network of cast, crew, and partners from Learn 4 Life schools, this is an opportunity not to be missed. While we’re still awaiting specific dates and times, we can confirm that our screening will be held between October 3-9th, 2023.
In the words of the Awareness Festival: “Together we can raise awareness and inspire change through immersive film and media presentations, filmmaker panels, and community partnerships to create a better, more peaceful, just, and healthy world.” We couldn’t agree more.
Stay tuned for more details regarding screening times and tickets. We hope to see many of you there, standing in solidarity with the stories, struggles, and triumphs showcased in “La Lucha: Getting Schooled in America.
